Position Summary:
The Residential HVAC #2 Installer assists the Lead Installer (#1 Installer) in installing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in residential homes. This role includes the installation of ductwork, HVAC units, thermostats, and related equipment, ensuring systems are functioning properly, meet code requirements, and are installed safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the installation of residential HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductless mini-splits, and air handlers.
- Support the Lead Installer with job site setup, teardown, and daily cleanup.
- Carry, lift, and stage materials and tools.
- Install ductwork, insulation, refrigerant lines, and drain piping under direction.
- Follow company procedures, safety policies, and installation guidelines.
- Ensure work areas are clean and organized at all times.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with homeowners and team members.
- Perform basic electrical wiring and control installation (under supervision).
- Assist with system start-up and testing.
- Participate in training and skill-building programs.
Qualifications:
- 1–2 years of experience in HVAC installation preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- HVAC trade school or technical training a plus.
- EPA Certification (Type II or Universal) preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Able to work in tight spaces, attics, and crawl spaces.
- Ability to lift 50–75 lbs regularly and work in varying weather conditions.
Work Environment:
- Residential job sites (indoors and outdoors)
- Exposure to varying temperatures, dust, and noise
- Use of ladders, scaffolding, and confined space equipment
