HVAC Service Manager

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated HVAC Service Manager to oversee our HVAC service operations for both residential and light commercial properties. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC systems, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to manage a team of highly trained technicians while ensuring the highest standards of service and customer satisfaction. This role is key to the success of our business and will require a deep understanding of HVAC systems, as well as experience managing a team in both commercial and residential settings.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership & Management:
    • Develop and lead a high-performing team of residential and commercial HVAC technicians, focusing on skill-building, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
    • Supervise, train, and mentor a team of HVAC service technicians, ensuring all employees have the necessary skills and certifications to perform their jobs efficiently.
    • Monitor technician performance and provide feedback and coaching to improve skills and customer service.
    • Work closely with dispatch and customer service to streamline operations and meet client needs.
    • optimize schedules to ensure timely service while managing seasonal demands.
  • Customer Service & Relationship Management:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, addressing inquiries and resolving any concerns or issues that arise.
    • Ensure timely, professional, and quality service for both commercial and residential clients.
    • Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships through exceptional service delivery.
  • Service Operations & Scheduling:
    • Ensure that all service calls are completed on time and within budget.
    • Track and manage inventory, ordering parts, and maintaining adequate stock levels for smooth operations.
  • Technical Expertise & Troubleshooting:
    • Provide technical guidance to the service team in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining HVAC systems, including air conditioning, heating, ventilation, and refrigeration systems for both commercial and residential clients.
    • Perform complex system diagnostics and recommend system upgrades, replacements, and repairs as necessary.
  • Quality Assurance & Compliance:
    • Ensure all work performed meets company quality standards and adheres to local, state, and federal HVAC codes and regulations.
    • Ensure that safety protocols are followed, and that team members are adhering to proper safety practices.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in both commercial and residential HVAC systems.
    • Identify opportunities to improve service operations and efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • HVAC certification or similar technical training is preferred.
  • Licensing:
    • Journeyman License (Required)
    • Masters License (Preferred)
  • Experience:
    • At least 5 years of experience in HVAC service, with a focus on both commercial and residential systems.
    • Proven experience in managing and leading a team of technicians.
    • Strong working knowledge of HVAC systems, installation, and repair.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex HVAC systems.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
    • Proficient in HVAC software and tools, with an understanding of current technologies in the field.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
    • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends when needed.
