Honest Air & Lead ‘Em Up: Building the Next “Green Teams”

At Honest Air, we believe that great organizations are built on great people. That is why we are proud to be part of Lead ‘Em Up, a nationally recognized organization dedicated to supporting and encouraging others. This program is geared towards youth sports, high school, and college students, but also helps other businesses (like Honest Air) with developing leadership skills and traits as well.

Core Beliefs of Lead ‘Em Up

The Lead ‘Em Up program is built on powerful core principles that guide athletes toward becoming positive leaders. These beliefs also align closely with the culture we strive to build at Honest Air. Here are seven of the foundational thoughts that shape the program:

  1. When the leader improves, everybody wins.
  2. Leadership is a skill that requires continuous practice.
  3. Great leaders can make the “uncool” into the new “cool.”
  4. Leadership isn’t sometimes; it’s all the time.
  5. Better people make better athletes.
  6. Leading by example is not enough; there needs to be more.
  7. We want players as excited about leadership development as they are about skill development.

These concepts help athletes understand that leadership is not a title but a mindset. It is a commitment to elevating those around you, taking responsibility, and striving for excellence every day.

What Our Involvement Means to Our Team

Our involvement in the Lead ‘Em Up program is a fundamental part of our core beliefs, to build up our community and make an impact, including the Oakdale and Linganore High School athletic programs. Our team actively participates in local charity events, supports local partners, and strives to provide affordable HVAC services to families in need. Furthermore, at Honest Air, we directly support local educational facilities and encourage students to pursue careers in the HVAC industry. With every service call, we are not just fixing HVAC systems; we are working to improve lives and create a more connected community.
